DraftKings daily fantasy hockey picks: December 15 lineup
High Salary W
Patrick Kane-Chicago Blackhawks ($8,800): Kane now has at least one point in 26 straight games. It’s the longest such streak since the 1992-93 season. He is absolutely on fire and should be in a fantasy every night he plays, regardless of the price. The Chicago winger will likely cool down sometime, but tonight’s home game with Colorado is a favorable one. Kane could be in for another big night and you will want to take advantage.
Jamie Benn-Dallas Stars ($8,400): If not for Kane, Benn would be considered the top fantasy target at winger. He leads the league with 20 goals and sits in second place behind Kane with 40 points. Benn has put up five points in his last there games, thanks to a four-point performance on December 8. Find a way to fit him into your lineup tonight.
Johnny Gaudreau-Calgary Flames ($6,500): Johnny Gaudreau has a low salary compared to the other centers but his 4.0 points a game is great production. Playing in Calgary doesn’t earn Gaudreau much attention, but it should. He has 12 goals and 19 assists this season and is coming off a huge game with two goals and an assist Saturday versus the Rangers. Five points in two games certainly constitutes a hot streak, and that’s what Gaudreau is on now.
Vladimir Tarasenko-St. Louis Blues ($7,800): Tarasenko won’t cost you as much as Benn or Kane and his 4.6 fantasy points a game ranks third tonight among wingers. The Blues have a ton of talent on the roster and Tarasenko is blossoming into one of the bright young stars in the NHL. A good matchup with Winnipeg and the fact that he has five points in his last six games makes Tarasenko a solid play tonight.
High Value W
Cam Atkinson-Columbus Blue Jackets ($4,300): The Columbus forward gets the title tonight as the top value play available. He has a great price tag and is in the middle of hot streak with three goals in his last three games. After a two-goal performance Thursday he added a goal on Saturday. Atkinson has been streaky during his career and right now is one of those times you’ll want to use him.
Michael Frolik-Calgary ($4,500): Frolik is another Calgary winger who has gone a bit unnoticed this season but he is starting to have a good year for the Flames with seven goals and nine assists so far. He picked up an assist the last time he was on the ice and has two points in his last three games. If you need to save at the winger position take a chance with Frolik.
Teddy Purcell-Edmonton Oilers ($3,700): Purcell again makes for a good fantasy target at winger, especially with a price below $4,000. He does have 19 points this season, including six in the last four games. If Purcell keeps up this kinds of production he’ll quickly start to receive more fantasy consideration. Both and salary and ownership percentage are bound to go up, so use him while you can.
Jeff Skinner-Carolina Hurricanes ($4,200): Skinner may finally be breaking out and reaching his potential. He has been super hot as of late with seven points over his last five games, including a hat trick Friday night in Anaheim. Skinner came into the league with the chance to be a star, and while that hasn’t happened yet, he is certainly showing flashes of it at the moment. Tonight’s game at Philadelphia is a great one for Skinner because the Flyers are ranked 28th against left wingers.
