DraftKings daily fantasy hockey picks: December 15 lineup
High Salary D
Justin Faulk-Carolina Hurricanes ($6,200): Faulk is enjoying a great season in Carolina and is quickly becoming one of the top blueliners in the league. He has 12 goals and 13 assists and is red hot currently with points in four straight games, including three two-point games in a row. His three goals in three games makes Faulk a must for your lineup. He’s still available for a fairly low price considering the production he can give you on a nightly basis.
Roman Josi-Nashville Predators ($6,700): Josi continues to put up solid fantasy numbers as a defenseman with eight points in his last seven games. He was held without a point on Saturday night but will look to rebound tonight against a Calgary team that is ranked 24th against opposing defensemen. Josi makes for a solid play tonight.
Dustin Byfuglien-Winnipeg Jets ($6,300): Byfuglien isn’t as attractive of an option as the two high salary guys in front of him, but he’s still a target if you can afford him. A matchup with St. Louis will make things tough though. The Blues have given up the fewest fantasy points to opposing defensemen this year. Still, Byfuglien sees a ton of ice time and fires a bunch of shots on the net. He will be a useful play tonight if you have the room.
High Value D
Shayne Gostisbehere-Philadelphia Flyers ($3,900): Gostisbehere has continued to produce as a regular for the Flyers and as a result has seen his fantasy salary rise. At under $4,000 he’s still a great value pick, but it likely won’t stay there for long. He has nine points in 14 games and is becoming an important piece for Philly and is even seeing over two minutes of time on the power play. He scored a goal on the man advantage Friday night and goes up against Carolina tonight, a team in the middle of the pack when it comes to allowing fantasy points to defensemen.
Aaron Ekblad-Florida Panthers 9$4,800): The former first-overall draft pick is still a teenager but is playing like someone much older. He’s off to a great start with six goals and eight assists in 30 games. He has a bright future ahead should be considered for fantasy lineups each time he plays. Ekblad has points in two straight games and will look to extend his streak against the Islanders.
