OF- Alex Gordon

Now that Jason Heyward is off the market, Alex Gordon may be the next outfielder to go. His old team, the Kansas City Royals, want him back. The Baltimore Orioles and the Los Angeles Angels could land him. Maybe a team that lost out on the Jason Heyward sweepstakes jumps in on him.

Gordon has won four Gold Gloves and is a three-time All Star. He was third in WAR in 2014. Since 2012, only Bryce Harper has a higher WAR in left field than Alex Gordon. Not fellow free agents Yoenis Cespedes and Justin Upton.

Gordon missed 58 games last season due to a leg injury, but recovered in time for the Royals championship run. Gordon hit two homers and six RBI in the playoffs for the Royals.

Gordon has done it all, but is 32 years old. The question is how long will a team offer him a deal. Will they go five years for a 32 year old outfielder?  Will he get $20 million a year from a team?

The Angels make a lot of sense. Left-handed corner outfielder. Gives them left-handed pop to go with Albert Pujols and Mike Trout from the right side. They’ve already traded two big pieces out of the farm system for Andrelton Simmons. The go for it now mentality is there.

The Free agent market has been hot, but there is still some quality pieces out there. Look for these five pieces to move off the board quickly.
