Round 4 (Second Pick of Round): D.J. White, CB, Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets cornerback D.J. White is a player that could potentially start to climb up big boards as we get closer to the draft, see numbers from the combine, and see performances at various pro days. As of right now, though, he’s projected as a fourth-rounder and the Ravens would be crazy not to use another pick to bolster their secondary by picking up White.

As stated before, the Ravens’ most pressing need coming into the 2016 draft is going to be finding more bodies in the secondary. Their lack of depth and ineffectiveness in coverage this season has been by far their most glaring weakness and will certainly be an area where the defensive-minded front office in Baltimore will look to address with the draft.

White just has a tremendous feel for the game in coverage. He has all of the instincts and many of the physical skills that you would want from someone on the outside, showing great fluidity and timing in his coverage. If he shows something special at the combine or his pro day, White probably will rise to at least the third round, but as of now he’s a no-brainer selection with Baltimore’s second selection of the fourth round.
