Round 6: Keenan Reynolds, Quarterback (Running back), Navy

Keenan Reynolds played quarterback at Navy, but if he is drafted in 2016 it will likely be as a running back. At only 5’11” and 200 pounds, he is too small to be an effective quarterback. There are some small ones in the league, but players like Drew Brees and Russell Wilson are the exception, not the rule.

Reynolds racked up an astounding 1,093 rushing yards in 2015, following his 2013 season when he totaled 1,346 yards and last year when he ran 1,193 yards. His four-year total is 4,279 yards rushing. He has scored 83 rushing touchdowns during his career. Keep in mind, these stats were accrued while he was in the role of quarterback. His passing was not nearly as impressive, but his experience at quarterback has equipped him with insight and awareness that many running backs lack.

Perhaps one of the strongest assets for the Browns would be Reynolds character. Coming out of the U.S. Naval Academy, Reynolds is used to structure and has been schooled in leadership (literally.) There are better running backs in the draft, but Reynolds would be an intriguing prospect for the Browns, one who offers much more than on-field productivity.
