High Salary C

Patrice Bergeron-Boston Bruins ($7,000): Bergeron is having a fantastic season and has been one of the best offensive weapons for the Bruins. He’s got 11 goals and 21 assists in 31 games and just reeled off two goals Friday night in Pittsburgh and has the highest average of fantasy points among available centers tonight with 4.5 per game. Bergeron is hot right now, recording points in seven-straight games and should be the top fantasy target at center tonight.

Joe Pavelski-San Jose Sharks ($7,600): Pavelski has had to be the main source of offensive output for the Sharks this season. He’s scored 15 goals and added 17 assists so far and is currently riding a three-game point streak and has eight points in his last seven games. His average of 4.4 fantasy points a game has rewarded owners who have chosen to deploy him. Take Pavelski tonight, as he’ll need to be on top of his game against Chicago.

Nicklas Backstrom-Washington Capitals ($6,400): Washington is playing well right now and a big reason for that is top-line center Nicklas Backstrom. He gets to play on the ice with Alexander Ovechkin and T.J. Oshie and is often the main guy to assist them. Through 28 games Backstrom has 10 goals and 18 assists, including a goal and three assists in his last three games. Tonight he’ll go up against the Rangers, a team ranked 14th in points allowed to opposing centers.

High Value C

Aleksander Barkov-Florida Panthers ($5,300): The former No. 2 pick has yet to live up to expectations, but he’s been a decent source of fantasy points this season. He plays heavy minutes on the top line and has ample opportunities to put up points. So far he has seven goals and 10 assists and has four points in this last three games with a goal and three assists. His matchup tonight is with the Vancouver Canucks who are ranked 17th in fantasy points allowed to centers.

Ryan Spooner-Boston Bruins ($4,300): Spooner isn’t a household name among fantasy hockey players, but he’s on a hot streak right now with 10 points in his last six games. That number was greatly helped by a four-assist effort in Pittsburgh Friday night. Fantasy owners who took a chance on Spooner that last two games were handsomely rewarded with a 6.5-point game and a 9.5-point game. His ownership will probably be up tonight, but he should be a target for your lineup.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau-Ottawa Senators ($3,400): Pageau continues to be a cheap source of production on occasion for fantasy players. He can’t be trusted each night, but if you are willing to take a chance it could pay off. He has 12 points in 33 games this season but just scored a goal Friday night versus San Jose. His game against Tampa Bay tonight presents a good matchup, making Pageau a quality sleeper pick.
