Houston Texans playoff scenarios: Week 15
By Josh Hill
The Houston Texans have come during out of nowhere to take the lead in the AFC South an cannot clinch the division.
We may have a few weeks left in the season, but the Houston Texans are in control of the AFC South after winning in Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon. Houston needed a win to clear a huge hurdle to realizing their playoff dreams, and now they’re just a win away from securing a spot in the postseason.
If the Texans beat the Titans next week — who might not have Marcus Mariota under center — then Houston will be crowned the AFC South champs.
This will be a source of much controversy, as the Texans finishing the season with a record worse than the Steelers or a team on the outside of the playoff picture is going to stoke coals. That being said, Houston can still finish the season 9-7, which is technically a winning record and lessens the blow of having a possibly sub-par team make the postseason.
Even though the Texans don’t have a lot of the NFL community on their side as far as faith in the postseason, they’re still going to enter next week with a chance to inexplicably punch their playoff ticket.
