The San Diego Chargers dominated the Miami Dolphins in their final home game of the season.

The San Diego Chargers do not appear to be eager on getting the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft as shown by their convincing victory over the Miami Dolphins. The Chargers gave their fans a little bit to be happy about since they finished their home schedule with a win after losing five consecutive games at Qualcomm Stadium. They improved their record to 4-10 with this win while the Dolphins fell to 5-9. The Chargers took a 23-0 lead in the first half and never looked back after that.

Dolphins running back Lamar Miller was held to ‘ yards on ‘ carries after mauling the New York Giants defense with two touchdowns in his last game. Woodhead was the shining star of the game, as he scored four total touchdowns to set a career high. He caught six passes for 50 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 10 yards and a rushing touchdown. Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers also put on a solid performance with 311 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. The Chargers sent off wide receiver Malcom Floyd in a positive way in the final home game of his career, and they will travel to play in two divisional rematches.

1. Danny Woodhead, RB, Chargers – Woodhead rushed for 10 yards and a touchdown while adding six catches for 50 yards and three touchdown receptions.

2. Philip Rivers, QB, Chargers – Rivers overcame two interceptions and torched the Dolphins defense to the tune of 311 yards with three touchdown passes.

3. Antonio Gates, TE, Chargers – Gates continued to be Rivers’ primary target with six catches for 88 yards.

The Chargers were not favored by much to win this game, but they covered easily since the spread was set at -1.5 points.

Next Week

The Chargers will participate in a road rematch with the Oakland Raiders, whom they lost to at home in their previous meeting. The Chargers rallied from a 30-3 halftime deficit before falling, 37-29. Meanwhile, the Dolphins will begin the conclusion of their homestand with a game against the Indianapolis Colts, who will fight to keep their AFC South title chances alive. The Dolphins will look to play spoiler after already being eliminated from playoff contention.
