Philip Rivers redeemed himself from an interception while the same play was still alive.

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers does not have to play defense often since he plays an offensive position. However, he was forced to go into defensive mode after throwing an interception to Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones. Jones ran it back a good distance before losing the ball on a fumble. Interestingly enough, Rivers himself recovered the fumble after the ball kept squirting loose. Here is a video of this unique play.

The Chargers have held the lead over the Dolphins so far throughout the first half. Rivers threw a touchdown pass to running back Danny Woodhead. The Chargers have lost many close games this season, but luck finally turned their way when the ball veered toward Rivers.

It remains to be seen whether the Chargers can avoid losing another game on a blown lead, but they are currently in contention for the first overall pick in the draft. The Dolphins have also been eliminated from the playoffs after falling to a 5-8 record. It remains to be seen how their Monday Night Football loss will affect their play going forward.
