Sixth Round: Kenneth Dixon: Running Back, Louisiana Tech

Though the Jacksonville Jaguars have a good duo at tailback in T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson, why would the Jaguars pass up a mid-major player who literally ran his numbers off in a bowl game victory this holiday season?

Going with running back Kenneth Dixon of the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs seems like a low-risk, high reward type of draft selection the Jaguars would be willing to make. Running back is a position in general that front offices want to get as much bang for their buck as they can.

A big time bowl performer like Dixon would look good in black and teal as a change of pace back in Jacksonville. His strong bowl game along with a good combine or pro day may push Dixon’s stock a little higher than where he would have gone a few weeks ago.

Jacksonville may look to strive for more balance on offense going forward. Now that the Jaguars seem to have the passing game figured out, it’s understandable for general manager David Caldwell to go with a running back with a late round pick, not only to add depth but to possibly hit a home run with a big-time player from a mid-major program like Dixon.
