Round 6: Antonio Morrison, MLB – Florida

As stated previously, depth at linebacker is important. Not only did the Minnesota Vikings lose two linebackers during the season to opposing teams (Gerald Hodges and Michael Mauti), but Audie Cole is also dealing with a pretty serious fractured ankle which could set back his development a bit.

Florida’s Antonio Morrison is a stud. He’s at least a second round talent if he’s healthy, but teams will be scared to pull the trigger on him considering a knee injury during the 2014 bowl season put him on the shelf for just six months. If he can’t clear teams exhaustive medical protocol and struggles to perform at the combine, he could find himself being drafted here in the sixth round.

Despite the knee issue, there is little doubt that Morrison will at least be a solid contributor on special teams. The Vikings can take that opportunity to try to make him less of a wild card on the field. He is one of those players that struggles to maintain discipline and will need to be coached to ease his instincts at the professional level.
