2nd Round – #54 overall
Germain Ifedi might be gone by this point, but should he still be available, this is a no-brainer for the Chiefs. Ifedi is a mountain of a man at well over 300 pounds and would slot in immediately at right tackle. Kansas City has a gaping hole at that spot, with Jah Reid and Donald Stephenson doing a poor job at handling the speed rushers in the division such as Von Miller.
Reid was signed last week to a three-year contract extension worth $12 million, but only four f that is guaranteed. Reid projects to be a swing tackle on the roster, something he is much more built for than being a starter. Ifedi could come in and give the Chiefs a nice bookend with former first-overall pick Eric Fisher, who has really developed into a terrific player in 2015.
Kansas City has invested plenty of equity into its offensive line over the past three years. Fisher was an aforementioned first-overall selection while rookie Mitch Morse was taken last year in the second round. The Chiefs also traded a fifth-round pick for guard Ben Grubbs and then signed him to a $24 million extension. A couple of late-round picks were also used last year on guards Zach Fulton and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif.
