Round 4: Willie Beavers, OT (Western Michigan)

Yet another need of this Giants team is to add quality and depth on the offensive line after that has been a point of concern in New York at various times this season. Though I don’t think that they would look to spend another high draft pick on an offensive lineman for the second year in a row, I think that the Giants could very well look to use a mid-to-late round selection to address that area and Willie Beavers would be a fantastic option in that regard.

The big Western Michigan Broncos tackle has tremendous physical traits that have to make NFL teams salivate in terms of his potential at the next level. His size is nice at 6-5, 312 pounds, but he also has fantastically quick feet and awareness for a guy that size. He has tremendous potential in a zone blocking scheme, but could also stand to develop as an all-around high quality offensive lineman.

Again, this is an area where the Giants need some work, but likely won’t look to address in the early rounds considering the dire needs at other positions. With that in mind, waiting and selecting a prospect with Beavers’ talent would likely be New York’s best course of action and could wind up paying dividends if the tackle reaches his potential.
