3. New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are starting to get a bit healthier as the NFL Playoffs inch closer, but they are still either missing or are banged up in key areas on both sides of the ball. Most notably, they are still depleted on the offensive side of the ball in times of their weapons as Julian Edelman seems unlikely to return just yet while Brandon LaFell and Danny Amendola are both nursing injuries as well.

As the Patriots go on the road to face the New York Jets in Week 16, I think that the Pats could be in a bit of trouble. Sure, the Pats have had a clear advantage over the Jets in recent years, but the Jets have been one of the sneaky good teams in the league as of late. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been playing some of the most consistently quality football of his career, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker have been out of their mind, and their defense has stayed one of the best in the NFL.

The Jets defense is the primary reason why I think the Jets have a great chance to pull off the upset on Sunday afternoon. With the lack of weapons for the Patriots and how devastating the Jets pass-rush can be, there’s a scenario that could play out where the Patriots have trouble moving the ball effectively throughout the entire 60 minutes. Tom Brady obviously makes any upset pick a bit risky because of what he’s capable of, but the formula is there for the Jets to pick up a big win.
