After three days off to enjoy the Christmas holiday, the NHL action heats back up on Saturday with nine total games taking place. There is about a month of games left before another break for the All-Star Game.

The first wave of games gets kicked off at 7:00 p.m. ET with an important Eastern Conference battle between the Washington Capitals and Montreal Canadiens. Once battling each other for first place, both teams are headed in opposite directions. The Capitals have won six straight while the Canadiens have dropped their last five games.

Buffalo versus Boston is a game that likely won’t draw much interest but it does contain a few players who could prove very valuable to fantasy lineups.

The later games will see popular fantasy hubs Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and Detroit all in action. The game of the night has to be Dallas visiting St. Louis. The Stars are the highest-scoring team in the league and are currently running away from the second place Blues in the Western Conference.

When referencing average points and salaries, all numbers come from DraftKings. All scoring references refer to the DraftKings scoring rules.
