High Salary C

Evgeni Malkin-Pittsburgh Penguins ($7,600): The talented center suffered a knee injury on Monday but it turned out to be minor, so Malkin was able to return to the game against Columbus. He ended up netting two goals and now has goals in back-to-back games. Pittsburgh has struggled, but Malkin has been a bright spot with 30 points in 33 games. Tonight he has a more difficult matchup with Minnesota, but appears to still be one of the best fantasy centers available.

Nicklas Backstrom-Washington Capitals ($6,200): The Capitals are hot and Nicklas Backstrom has been one of the reasons why. The top-line center is once again having a great season and is producing at a point-per-game rate. He has four points in his last three games, inclining three assists on December 20 versus the Rangers. Tonight Backstrom gets a good matchup with Montreal, a team ranked 16th in fantasy points allowed to centers.

High Value C

Dylan Larkin-Detroit Red Wings ($5,700): Larkin may be just 19-years-old but he has already turned into a solid fantasy producer with 24 points in 34 games. He started the season hot and has seen his fantasy salary steadily increase. Larkin is getting close to being too expensive to be considered a value pick, but for now he still makes a good buy. He has goals in back-to-back games and should be targeted whenever he’s playing.

Henrik Sedin-Vancouver Canucks ($5,100): Sedin has a great salary for the type of production that he’ll be able to provide. He missed two games last week with a minor injury but is now fully recovered. He’s got 32 points in 34 games and is still a top fantasy option. He registered an assist in his last game and will look to keep it going tonight in a favorable matchup with Edmonton.

Marcus Johansson-Washington Capitals ($4,000): Johansson has become a bit of a forgotten man on the talented Washington lineup, but he can be very useful in terms of daily fantasy hockey. He’s got a low salary and the potential to produce at a good clip. Johansson has just 19 points this season, but he’s on pace to set a new career high and has four points in his last three games. On December 20 in New York he had a huge game with a goal and two assists. A good matchup with Montreal awaits him tonight and he makes for a fine sleeper play for your fantasy lineup.
