High Salary D

Roman Josi-Nashville Predators ($7,000): Josi has both the highest salary and highest average of fantasy points (4.3) among all available defensemen tonight. The last time he played was Monday night versus the Canadiens and he had a big game, picking up an assist and scoring the game-winning goal. Josi now has points in three straight games and 12 points in his last 11 games. Tonight’s opponent, Detroit, ranks 28th in points allowed to opposing defensemen. Pay for Josi and enjoy the points he’ll get for your lineup.

John Carlson-Washington Capitals ($6,800): Carlson is just behind Josi in both salary and average fantasy points. He’s having a great season as Washington’s top blueliner and has 27 points in 33 games. He sees a ton of ice time, including on the power play and can be a big producer for fantasy teams. He currently has a three-game point streak and will look to keep it going tonight.

High Value D

Mike Green-Detroit Red Wings ($4,500): Green has just two goals this season, but he’s been better as of late for the Red Wings and now has a total of 13 points in 28 games. He found the back of the net on Tuesday versus New Jersey and though he has just two points in his last five games, he’s still a threat to find the scoresheet. He gets a good amount of ice time, both at full strength and on the power play. He faces a favorable matchup with Nashville and is a good value play tonight.

Jay Bouwmeester-St. Louis Blues ($3,500): Bouwmeester is still carrying a ridiculously low price tag for daily fantasy hockey. However, he has the ability to produce and selecting him will free up valuable cap space to spend on some big offensive weapons. Bouwmeester has just nine total points this season but did record an assist in his last game on Tuesday. If you used up a lot of cap space already, plug in Bouwmeester as a low-end sleeper option tonight.
