The New York Jets have several needs to fill via the 2016 NFL Draft despite having a solid rebounding season in 2015 with much to build upon for the future.

The Jets can easily look at the 2015 season as a positive one. Compared to their 4-12 efforts of 2014, the Jets are a team on the rise thanks to a solid foundation that’s being built now. After last season’s purge of leadership thanks to owner Woody Johnson, he made sure to have an extensive search to bring in a new head coach and general manager that were of good quality and competent enough to turn this franchise around for the better in a short period of time.

After bringing in general manager Mike Maccagnan and head coach Todd Bowles respectively, they immediately went to work. They brought in key free agent acquisitions that were able to make an immediate impact upon arrival. They started to build a culture on accountability, having the right personalities in the locker room and above all else making sure to take care of business. Once the 2015 NFL Draft came around, many analysts felt the Jets’ selections were excellent. They scored an “A” across many online sports media platforms for a draft that once again, ensured they would have a good mix of athletes ready to contribute and others that would be developed to become starters over time in the future.

No matter if this season ends with a berth in the NFL Playoffs or not, the Jets will still be looking at the 2016 NFL Draft for some help in positions that need an infusion of young talent. Knowing how Maccagnan works, he will more than likely address major needs via free agency and draft the best available talent to push the Jets to even greater heights next season.

Without further adieu, here’s my 7-round mock draft for the Jets heading into the 2016 NFL Draft.
