DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup- December 27
High Salary G
Roberto Luongo-Florida Panthers ($8,100): Luongo has played so well this season that he’s now one of the most expensive goalies available. Though the team playing in front of him isn’t the greatest, Luongo has been sharp, posting a 2.20 GAA and a save percentage of .925. The veteran netminder has won his last four stops and gets a very favorable matchup tonight with Columbus. Loungo is the top option tonight among goalies.
Corey Crawford-Chicago Blackhawks ($8,000): Despite playing poorly his last time out, Crawford remains a top fantasy goalie target when he’s in action. He did all four goals in the last game, but it was against Dallas, the highest-scoring team in the league, so there’s no reason for concern when it comes to Crawford. Prior to the Dallas game he had won three straight. Tonight brings what looks to be a much easier matchup with Carolina in town. Crawford should be safe to use tonight.
High Value G
Semyon Varalamov-Colorado Avalanche ($7,400): Varalamov is the confirmed starter tonight versus Arizona after having few days off to rest over the break. The Coyotes could be a tough matchup, as they rank eight in the NHL in goals scored per game. However, Varalamov, when he’s on, can play like one of the best goalies in the league. He lost his last start but had won six straight previous to that.
Thomas Greiss-New York Islanders ($7,300): The Islanders announced that starting goalie Jaroslav Halak is dealing with an injury, meaning Greiss becomes the new starter for the short term. He’s only seen action in 15 games this year but has posted a 9-4-2 record to go along with a 2.00 GAA and .933 save percentage. He will go up against Toronto tonight, a team ranked 20th with 2.5 goals scored per game.
