Toronto Raptors vs Chicago Bulls
Who else is surprised that the Eastern Conference has been such a close race from first place to 11th this season? Eleven teams are separated by just five games and it will likely be a down-to-the-wire finish for first. The Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls are two teams with a realistic shot to win the conference and they’re separated by just 1.5 games.

Toronto is the fourth-place team in the East with a 19-12 record despite going just 3-3 in its last six games. Riding a two-game win streak and posting the best road record in the Eastern Conference, though, shows that this team isn’t afraid to travel to the United Center.
DeMar DeRozan is putting together an All-Star type of season for the Raptors, averaging a team-high 22.7 points along with 4.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. Kyle Lowry, the stellar point guard and leader of the team, is averaging 20.7 points, 6.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game. Besides those two, Toronto’s scoring has been evenly distributed.
The Bulls have been slumping a bit in recent games, losing four of five after a four game win streak a little over a week ago. Jimmy Butler has been criticized for publicly calling out Fred Hoiberg, saying the head coach isn’t hard enough on the team. That quote was blown out of proportion, but still should have been kept to himself.
Despite that remark, Butler is still considered the best player on the team, averaging 21.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Derrick Rose is a shell of his former self, but there are games in which he goes off for 20-plus.
