High Salary LW

Milan Lucic – Los Angeles Kings ($6,800): Lucic has 21 points in 34 games so far this season for the Kings. He’s a solid fantasy option tonight because the Kings are facing the Canucks. He’s a bit of an expensive option considering his production and that he hasn’t been on the score sheet in his past three games, but it could pay off well for you tonight. He averages 2.6 fantasy points per game.

Alex Ovechkin – Washington Capitals ($9,700): Ovechkin has been disappointing by his ridiculous standards so far this season. He has 17 goals in 33 games. That’s barely a 40 goal pace for a guy who usually scores more than 50. However, there are reasons to believe that he could get going soon. He was in a similar situation last season with 16 goals through his first 33 games. He wound up winning the Rocket Richard. He’s still firing shots on goal at an unrealistic pace. He’s bound to have one of his patented streaks where he scores in like every game. He’s going against a Sabres team that hasn’t been great defensively this season. He averages 5.1 fantasy hockey points per game.

Filip Forsberg – Nashville Predators ($8,200): Forsberg has avoided the sophomore slump this season for the Predators with 24 points in 35 games. Not as great as last season, but still pretty darn good. He’s a solid fantasy option tonight going against a Rangers team that has struggled defensively. If they struggle tonight, Forsberg is the kind of player who will make them pay. He is riding a four game point streak during which he has 15 shots on goal. He’s starting to look dominant like he did last season. He averages 3.1 fantasy points per game.

High Value LW

Oscar Lindberg – New York Rangers ($4,100): Lindberg has been held off the scoresheet in his past eight games. It sure isn’t due to a lack of effort. He has 16 shots on goal during those eight games. He’s a good shooter and there is reason to believe that he is going to break out. At a cheap price, it’s certainly worthwhile to consider Lindberg for your fantasy hockey lineup. He averages 2.3 fantasy points per game.

Jason Chimera – Washington Capitals ($5,200): Chimera has quietly been an effective member of the Capitals third forward line. He uses his speed to generate scoring chances. He was snake-bit for a while, but he has burst through recently. He currently has a four game point streak and has a point in five of his last six outings. He has at least five fantasy points in each of his last three outings. Ride him while he’s hot. The Sabres defense isn’t fast. If ever there was a match-up that favored Chimera, this is the one. He averages 2.5 fantasy points per game.

Tomas Fleischmann – Montreal Canadiens ($5,400): Fleischmann is like Lindberg. He has struggled recently (just one point in his last ten games) but it sure isn’t because he ain’t trying. He has 25 shots on goal in his last 10 games. All he has to show for it is an assist. He’s bound to break out. The question is when’s it going to happen. He averages 2.2 fantasy hockey points per game.
