Notre Dame. Ronnie Stanley. 14. player. 59.
The Miami Dolphins are in some ways stuck in mediocrity. Ryan Tannehill hasn’t progressed as fast as they thought, even after getting a large contract extension. Ndamukong Suh hasn’t shown anything but flashes of his Detroit days and the rest of the defense has struggled around him. Even with changes across the coaching staff, this team has failed to produce when it matters.

With this pick, Miami makes what could be one last attempt to give Ryan Tannehill everything he needs to take that next step. Miami goes with Notre Dame offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley with the 14th overall pick.

With ideal size and strength for the position, Stanley will be tasked with some excellent pass rushers in his own division. This pick should give Tannehill enough time to read the field and step up in the pocket, as well as give Lamar Miller more opportunities to run the football. Hopefully this gets Miami over the hump and into contention.

As I mentioned earlier, this draft is filled with secondary talent, so replacing an aging Brent Grimes and restocking the defense should be no problem. Expect them to look at cornerback and possibly find a second safety in the Day 2 rounds.

Previous Pick: Ronnie Stanley, OT
. Offensive Tackle
