23. player. 124.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the hottest team in football right now. Winner of nine straight games, they’ve gone from trash to treasure in the blink of an eye. A couple months ago we were talking about Alex Smith being old and worn out, but now we’re talking about playoffs (Insert Jim Mora soundbite). Andy Reid has done a solid job in both the draft and free agency in recent years for them to make a comeback and be in this position to make a long playoff run.

They’re certainly a team with few needs, but getting a middle linebacker is a big one.

There’s none better in the 2016 NFL Draft than Reggie Ragland from Alabama. With Derrick Johnson getting up in age and in the last year of his deal, there’s a perfect fit for Ragland to fill in and start right away on an already sound team. While his range isn’t great for the position, he is a sure tackler and can even get to the quarterback. His primary role will be stopping the run, but the pass rushing can come if needed. Because of his limited range, defending the pass may be an issue down the road.

Previous Pick: Vadal Alexander, OG
. Middle Linebacker. Alabama. Reggie Ragland
