123.
Injuries have are becoming a theme in this year’s top five picks, and the Dallas Cowboys are no exceptions to that trend. Tony Romo is on the down-end of his career after breaking his collarbone twice this year, Dez Bryant missed multiple games early with a broken foot, and Orlando Scandrick tore up his knee in the preseason. Of course, they also had locker room distractions once again.

This is a team that could have had a chance to win the NFC East, but just couldn’t stay healthy and finish games. Dallas is going to focus on defense with the fifth overall pick, primarily the defensive line.

Their pass rush is near the bottom of the league in sacks and they’ve failed to maintain a strong defense against the run. With Greg Hardy not expected to return and Randy Gregory still undersized for the position, Dallas gets to draft a guy who many thought would be the first overall pick heading into the season.

Despite a season opening suspension and a drop in production, Joey Bosa has maintained his early first-round draft stock. He’s versatile enough to play either defensive end or outside linebacker, but his primary position in college has been defensive end. He’s always involved with the play and knows how to find the quarterback. A great value pick here for Jerry Jones.

Previous Pick: Robert Nkemdiche, DT
. Defensive Lineman. Ohio State.
