Shaq Lawson. 18. player. 48.
Improving the secondary would’ve been ideal for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers here as its been a constant source of pains on defense. However, a run on corners and lack of safety depth makes that inadvisable. Still, there are other ways in which Lovie Smith and the front office can upgrade the team on that side of the ball.

A big one would be their pass rush. Outside of Gerald McCoy, who is a superstar at defensive tackle, the Buccaneers really have no presence on their defensive front teams fear. Especially on the edges. Jacquies Smith has played well at times but he’s inconsistent and a liability against the run. The 4-3 scheme demands ends who can do both well in order to make life easier on the linebackers and secondary.

Clemson end Shaq Lawson has really caught the attention of pro scouts this year. Not only does he have 9.5 sacks on the season but also 21.5 tackles for a loss. That speaks to a player who knows how to shed blockers and wreak havoc in the backfield. Lawson has size and plenty of upper and lower body strength. Add in some good athleticism and his upside is huge. The key is whether he can become more disciplined as too often he runs himself out of plays.
. DE. Clemson
