FanDuel DFS Fantasy hockey picks Jan. 2
High Salary RW
- Matt Duchene – Colorado Avalanche ($8,800): Duchene, like MacKinnon, should thrive in tonight’s matchup between the Flames and the Avalanche because it should be a fast-paced and high-scoring game. Anything that is fast paced definitely benefits Duchene. He has 31 points in 38 games this season. He has just six points in his last ten games, but he is riding a two-game point streak. He averages 3.3 fantasy hockey points per game.
- Joe Pavelski – San Jose Sharks ($9,200): Pavelski is on a huge hot streak right now with 13 points and eight goals in his last ten games. He has 38 points in 36 games overall this season.
High Value RW
- Tyler Toffoli – Los Angeles Kings ($5,800): Toffoli is currently riding a five-game point streak during which he has six goals (including a hat-trick) and eight points. Over his last eight games, he has ten points. He’s going against the Flyers tonight. Expect his recent success to continue. He averages 3.9 fantasy hockey points per game.
- James Neal – Nashville Predators ($6,100): Neal has been cold as of late with just six points in his last ten games and he has been held off the scoresheet in the past two games. I like his chances to break out against the Hurricanes tonight. He has 29 shots on goal in his last ten games. His lack of scoring sure as heck isn’t because he isn’t trying or doing things right. He’s just a little snakebit. Happens to the best of us. He’s playing too well for his slump to continue for much longer. He averages 3.5 fantasy points per game.
DAILY PICKS: You can’t go wrong with splurging on Pavelski, but I’m going with Toffoli and Neal.
