3. Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears offer another one of those places where Christian Hackenberg could sit and learn at the quarterback position. The team drafted David Fales in 2014 and really like him, but Hackenberg’s ceiling could potentially far greater.

Still, like other teams with young project quarterbacks, there’s nothing wrong with having a couple if a team is trying to find their next quarterback.

The good news is that Cutler has seen a resurgent season under offensive coordinator Adam Gase, that he should be the guy in Chicago for some time, if the organization continues to stand by him.

That means the backup in Chicago would almost only play because of injury or in late-game blowout situations to learn. It’s certainly possible that Gase could get a head coaching job in the offseason, but John Fox has always kept a good staff around him and will certainly find an offensive mind to work with his quarterbacks.

The Bears have some pieces along their offensive line and if they can keep adding depth in the draft, then they can keep a good line around Cutler and eventually Hackenberg if he progresses well. He also would have plenty of young weapons on offense to throw to in the future as well.

Hackenberg probably isn’t ready to step in and start right away for any team, which is why a situation where he can sit for a while would be the perfect solution for his career.

Chicago is one of those places where he could sit, learn and compete for a future job at quarterback.
