Adam Gase

Expect to hear Adam Gase’s name in nearly every coaching search on the market. He’s young, successful and already has an impressive resume.

Gase currently serves as the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears, having followed John Fox from Denver to Chicago following the 2014 season. Under his tuteledge Jay Cutler actually appeared serviceable, and had a bit of a career resurrection. Furthermore, the Bears witnessed the maturation of Jeremy Langford, the team’s running back of the future.

During his stint with the Broncos, Gase served as wide receivers coach, quarterbacks coach and then offensive coordinator during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He helped transition Peyton Manning into the team’s offense and oversaw what would be one of Manning’s best year’s as a professional. In 2013, Gase’s first year as OC, the Bronocs racked up 606 points – an all-time National Football League record at the time.

By bringing in Gase Cleveland would be banking on a young, dynamic presence to reach the locker room (Gase will be 38 at the start of the 2016 season). That would be a marked difference from Mike Pettine who at times seemed disengaged from his team. The Browns would also be banking on the John Fox coaching tree and taking a gamble that one of the game’s best minds can run a franchise as well as he can an offense.
