FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 4
High Salary SG
C.J. McCollum-Portland Trail Blazers (8,400): McCollum continues to carry the scoring load for Portland who has been without Damian Lillard for seven straight games. McCollum has at least 25 points in each of his last four games and has added solid rebounds and assists as well. He had 34.1 fantasy points last night against the Nuggets in 33 minutes which was his lowest total of the last four games but also his fewest minutes. Hopefully the slight reduction in workload enables him to bounce back at home against the Grizzlies tonight. He’s worth a look with or without Lillard’s return since he’s been so hot lately. My only concern with McCollum is that his heavy workload could result in tired legs against the Grizz. ∗∗∗
Klay Thompson-Golden State Warriors (7,600): Thompson played 46 minutes on Saturday against the Nuggets and finished with 26 points, seven boards, three assists, a pair of steals and 41.9 fantasy points. He has at least 38 fantasy points in five of his last eight games, and he has been asked to carry more of the offensive workload with Steph Curry hobbled. Tonight’s opponent, the Hornets, allow the fourth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG, so Klay should be set up for another good night of work with or without his usual backcourt mate. ∗∗∗∗∗
