The Houston Texans have been putting the pieces in place for quite some time now to really build something special and, despite a number of injuries and hardships in the 2015 regular season, they showed that off behind a masterful performance by J.J. Watt and the defense.
Subsequently, the Texans need to start adding young weapons on the offensive side of the ball and that should start with a replacement for the aging and often injured Arian Foster.
In terms of top-tier running backs in the 2016 NFL Draft class, they don’t get any better than Ohio State Buckeyes star Ezekiel Elliott. Fresh off a dominant performance in the Fiesta Bowl, the Ohio State back has long been revered by scouts for his potential at the next level and for good reason.
While Elliott can break away from would-be tacklers in the open field, his dangerousness as a runner comes more from his quickness and vision before he even gets to the open field. He has a tremendous ability to make quick cuts and burst through holes as soon as they open up and get into the second level of the defense. Moreover, his head is always on a swivel and he has the size to run through contact.
Elliott has superstar potential at the NFL level and could slot right in as a workhorse running back for the Texans, especially if Foster never recovers from his season-ending injury in 2015.

.
