WR. Baylor. Corey Coleman. 27. player. 60.
The Minnesota Vikings took a huge leap forward in 2015, but are still a team devoid of any real offensive weapons outside of Adrian Peterson, particularly in their wide receiver corps. While Stefon Diggs seems like an intriguing prospect, the Vikes need more high quality players at the position and Baylor Bears star Corey Coleman would fit the bill.

Coleman was fantastic in his final year with the Bears on his way to 74 catches, 1,363 yards, and 20 touchdowns before his season ended prematurely due to sports hernia surgery. And though he’s coming from the Art Briles offense that hasn’t produced many high quality NFL receivers, Coleman has the tools to buck the trend though.

Coleman’s biggest drawback in terms of his prospects for this draft is his lack of size, but he’s a player with the skill set that almost totally negates the fact that he’s only 5-10. In the light of someone like an Steve Smith or Emmanuel Sanders, his ability to track the ball in the air, change speeds, and blow by coverage make him a threat despite not having traditional size at the position.

Though Diggs is also a big-play receiver, Coleman has the potential to be a complete weapon in the Vikings offense that can play as a possession receiver with the speed and agility to break open big plays, but also to beat opposing defenses over the tops. For an offense that needs another gear in Minnesota, Coleman is a player that can give them that gear.
