Colin Kaepernick is out in San Francisco. The 49ers can tap dance all around the situation and try to play nice, but we all know it’s an inevitability. There’s no way this team is keeping a question mark like him on the books for the salary he’s owed. And with Kaepernick subtweeting the Niners by doing things like sending congratulations to Jim Harbaugh after Michigan wins games, you know it’s all but officially over.

San Francisco is a team of many needs, but with the glaring hole at quarterback that’s where they look. Also, consider the fact that there’s a top-flight quarterback up in Northern California and the last time the franchise was faced with this type of decision (hello, Aaron Rodgers) they whiffed. Fool me once shame on you … fool me twice, nah that ain’t gonna happen.

Jared Goff is by no means a finished product, but he might very well be the best quarterback prospect in the 2016 NFL Draft. Teams have fallen in love with Paxton Lynch, but Goff has the highest ceiling. He is accurate, matures every season and is a home-grown product. There’s no way the 49ers pass on a guy who has increased his completion percentage every year he’s been in college, and who is coming off a season of throwing 43 touchdowns.
. QB. Cal. Jared Goff. 7. player. 42
