New York Giants. D. player. 31. . 6-10. 3rd NFC East

There were hardly enormous expectations for the New York Giants for the 2015 NFL season; they came into the year with a defense that was always going to perform at a sub-par level and an offense that promised to be productive yet decidedly pass-heavy. They weren’t expected to exceed anything more than something like a 9-7 or 8-8 record. However, they finished far worse than that at 6-10.

Though the Giants defense was expected to be pretty bad, they weren’t expected to be the absolute worst (or most generous, if you want to say it kindly) defense in the entire league. Whether their opponents were coming after them with a run-heavy or pass-heavy attack, the Giants could merely offer a whimper as resistance. That certainly lends itself to this team getting a below-average game.

However, the underrated issue for the Giants team is the fact that their one strength in their passing attack headlined by Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. wasn’t nearly as lethal as it was expected to be or even capable of being. Eli struggled with turnovers for much of the season and Beckham disappeared for weeks at a time and the offense as a whole suffered.

This New York team may not have had high expectations coming into the year, but even still they were unable to do anything of consequence and finished in third in what is largely considered the worst division in the league this season.
