player. 13. . 4-12. 4th AFC West. San Diego Chargers. D-

Of all of the teams that were forced to deal with a plethora of injuries throughout the NFL in the 2015 regular season, there is no more egregious example of that and no team more devastated by injuries than the San Diego Chargers. If you need just one example of how banged up they were throughout the season, there was a point in their Week 17 matchup with the Denver Broncos where it legitimately looked as if they might run out of healthy offensive linemen. Yep.

This team started off the year short-handed and only got more unhealthy and less stable as the year wore on. Not helping matters was the fact that Philip Rivers struggled mightily as the offensive line wore thin and as his weapons on the outside wore just as thing. Moreover, the running game was nearly non-existent for San Diego this season, negating their only strength in comparison to an already weak defense that was also banged up as a unit.

At 4-12, the Chargers were not a good football team, but it’s hard to wholly call them a failure considering all that they were forced to deal with as far as injuries go. Subsequently, they get the lowest non-failing grade possible with a D-, as well as a “get well soon” card for what feels like half of their roster.
