5-11. 3rd AFC North. Baltimore Ravens. F. player. 26.

The first thing that you have to say about the Baltimore Ravens as sort of a caveat for their entire 2015 regular season is that this team was absolutely ravaged by injuries. Their biggest (and arguably only) threat in the receiving game in Steve Smith Sr. succumbed to a season-ending injury, Terrell Suggs—the heart of their defense—tore his Achilles, and even Joe Flacco went out for the year after suffering a torn ACL late in the season.

It’s going to be near impossible for a team who wasn’t going to be all that good anyway to survive that number of key injuries and, subsequently, their lack of success this season largely should’ve been expected. However, the Ravens receive a failing grade for their 2015 season for a number of reasons in addition to the fact that they finished the year with just a 5-11 record.

For one, you can’t deny that the Ravens are graded on a bit of a curve. Given the success that this organization has enjoyed over the years, seasons that are this unwatchable are not greeted kindly, no matter how injured and short-handed the team was. More than that, this team wasn’t just bad, but was downright atrocious for much of the year. Their secondary couldn’t cover a stationary dummy, they were completely devoid of offensive weapons and consistency, and they simply failed to do anything promising this season. With the injuries, it may seem unfair—but I have to give Baltimore an F.
