Regular season grades for every NFL team
The Buffalo Bills came into the season with enormous expectations and rightfully so. Not only did they have one of the most talent-laden defensive units in the entire NFL to lean back on, but also one of the best defensive-minded coaches in the league in Rex Ryan coming into town. They had all the makings of a team that could really make some noise out of the AFC East.
Oddly enough, though, it was their offense that was more prolific than their defense as they went onto an 8-8 season. Though they showed flashes of looking good-to-great throughout the year, there was no consistency—which certainly wasn’t helped by injuries to LeSean McCoy and breakout star quarterback Tyrod Taylor over the course of 2015. It also didn’t help that their vaunted defense ultimately finished just middle-of-the-pack when the season was all wrapped up.
Considering where the Bills have been in recent years, a competitive 8-8 season really isn’t a bad finish for them in the grand scheme. However, the expectations and the talent on this team have to be factored into things when assessing their 2015 regular season. When it comes down to it, they fell short of those expectations and deserve a grade that indicates that.
