Sean Payton is going to be available, and the Giants are going to be pursuing him hard. Payton has a Super Bowl title to his credit, winning a championship with the New Orleans Saints over the Indianapolis Colts. Payton gets credited with being one of the best offensive minds in recent National Football League history and the reputation is well-deserved.

Payton has been around the league, including a stint with the Giants from 1999-2002, including the last three years being time served as an offensive coordinator. The Giants would love to bring in somebody who can take advantage of both Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr., two of the more prolific players in the NFL.

Despite ample experience in the league, Payton still has plenty of coaching to do. At 52 years old, Payton could conceivably coach for at least 15 years with New York, giving it both long-term and short-term viability. The Giants need to find a strong replacement who can both get the team back into the postseason and get the fan base excited.
