High Salary SG

Jimmy Butler-Chicago Bulls (8,300): On Sunday, Butler exploded for 40 second-half points and added five assists, four rebounds, a steal, and a block.  He finished that contest with 55.3 fantasy points and has at least 40 fantasy points in each of his last three games and five of his last nine.  He carries more of the offensive load with Derrick Rose sidelined, and he should be set up for another big game tonight against the Bucks who have allowed the third-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG over their last five games. Butler is pricey, but he’s one of the best investments of the night given his recent form. ∗∗

Klay Thompson-Golden State Warriors (7,600): Thompson continues to be under-priced and is worth a look tonight despite the risk of a blowout in LA.  He has at least 40 fantasy points in each of his last three and five of his last nine just like Butler, and he poured in 30 points last night in Steph Curry’s return to the Warriors lineup.  With Curry back, Thompson’s minutes and shots will likely take a hit, but he should also have less fatigue since he will have help shouldering the load. Thompson should find plenty of room to operate against the Lakers who allow the third-most fantasy points to opposing SG, but he may get some extra rest if the game gets out of hand early. He’s a good play tonight, but not as great a play as he has been lately when he has been a repeated five-star option.
