123.
The Cowboys trade up from the second round to take Carson Wentz ahead of the Cleveland Browns. The Browns expected to draft Wentz early in the second round after going defense with Joey Bosa second overall, but were foiled by Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. It all happens in typical Cleveland fashion where they are left scrambling for a quarterback.

While Carson Wentz is not a household name for most fans, many draft analysts have fallen in love with Wentz and his production at North Dakota State. This is a perfect fit for Wentz, as he gets to learn under Tony Romo and potentially take over the starting job in the very near future. Wentz has led North Dakota State its fifth straight FCS title game appearance and has won in all three of his appearances in the game. While his status for this years game is still unknown, he will undoubtedly be fighting to take the field one last time for the Bison.

Despite playing at an FCS program, Wentz has all of the raw tools you look for in an NFL quarterback. He has a big arm, decent frame, and can already recognize defensive most coverages. While the talent level he is playing against is certainly not comparable to the NFL, Wentz can make the transition under the wing of Tony Romo and the Cowboys.
. Quarterback. North Dakota State. Carson Wentz. 31. player
