Week 17 Most Valuable Player

Sam Bradford, QB Philadelphia Eagles

This is hilarious.

There is no better way to describe what picking Sam Bradford as the league’s MVP for a week feels like, as he has been a general disappointment in Philly this season. Still, we have to evaluate the entire league fairly, and on a day when none of the “big guns” had especially dominant performances, Bradford’s breakdown showing stood out in a significant way.

Bradford garnered the top QB grade from Pro Football Focus while completing 30 of his 38 passes on the day. Those 30 completions went for 320 yards, and while he did have one blip in the form of an interception, Bradford was quite accurate and impressive in the surprising win over the Giants.

Make no mistake, this singular effort does not make up for what Bradford put forth during the rest of the 2015 NFL season. However, there should be a bit of optimism for his future based on what we saw on Sunday, and with Chip Kelly elsewhere, it remains to be seen what the Eagles will do at quarterback. This showing could help to make Bradford a part of that discussion.

Runner-up: Cam Newton, QB Carolina Panthers
