1. San Francisco 49ers

If Coughlin wants to enter a situation that is a little harder than the Saints, then he should consider the San Francisco 49ers. They have Colin Kaepernick, who shined under Jim Harbaugh but had a falling out with the coaching staff and elected to go on the season-ending injury reserve.

With Coughlin under tow, Kaepernick could return to the glory of his 2014 NFL season and help get the team back to another Super Bowl. The 49ers have other issues, but a veteran coach like Coughlin could help fix some of the holes on the roster.

The 49ers could use a coach who has a track record of success after their one-year experiment with Jim Tomsula didn’t go well. While the 49ers have announced that Tomsula is the only casualty – not his assistants – it would be interesting to see how Coughlin would organize his coordinators should he brought in. It wouldn’t be a shock if the 49ers gave a coach like Coughlin carte blanche over the entire staff.

Coughlin would make the team competitive again not only the division but in the NFC. Also, it would be great to see Coughlin face Pete Carroll and Bruce Arians twice a year. Let’s the memes and GIFs start rolling out now.
