High Salary G

Cory Schneider – New Jersey Devils ($8,800): Schneider has been as good as any goalie not named Braden Holtby this season. He has had trouble winning games thanks to the Devils having the third-worst scoring offense in the NHL. That shouldn’t be an issue tonight. The Devils going against the Canadiens, who have lost 11 of their past 14. Facing a tired team that just played last night, Schneider is a solid start. He averages five fantasy hockey points per game.

John Gibson – Anaheim Ducks ($8,600): Gibson has been the beneficiary of the Ducks most recent adjustment to playing a trap-styled defense. It has led to Gibson seeing less shots on goal and has allowed the Ducks to win games even though they have trouble scoring. The Maple Leafs aren’t a joke, but the Ducks have been playing extremely well lately and have been executing the trap flawlessly. When it’s executed well, it’s borderline impossible to penetrate. He averages 4.8 fantasy hockey points per game and has gotten at least five fantasy hockey points in each of his last four outings.

Also consider Blackhawks goalie Scott Darling if he’s playing tonight. I usually advise against starting backup goalies, but he’s one of the better ones.

High Value G

Eddie Lack – Carolina Hurricanes ($6,700): Lack will get to face his old team on Wednesday night as he’ll be facing the Vancouver Canucks. There aren’t many value options available for tonight, but Lack is the best one. He’s been playing well as of late and there is something to be said for being familiar with your opponents. He averages 2.7 fantasy hockey points per game.
