FanDuel DFS Fantasy hockey picks January 6th
High Salary D
Kris Letang – Pittsburgh Penguins ($6,300): Letang was named the third star of the week last week. He seems bent on improving on that with multiple points in each of his last three games and in four of his last five. If anyone can conquer the Blackhawks in the United Center, it’s Letang. The recent play of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin boosts his fantasy value. He averages 3.1 fantasy hockey points per game.
Kevin Shattenkirk – St. Louis Blues ($6,200): Shattenkirk has been one of the driving forces of the Blues offense so far this season with 25 points in 32 games. He has at least one point in six of his last ten games and has gotten at least three fantasy points in six of his last ten games. He averages three fantasy hockey points per game.
Duncan Keith – Chicago Blackhawks ($6,300): It’s usually not wise to go with players who play a ton of minutes who are playing the second leg of games on back-to-back nights. Keith is an exception to that rule. Fatigue doesn’t apply to Keith, who should be very active in tonight’s game even though he played 29 minutes on Tuesday. He has a four game point streak and he’ll most likely be facing a backup goalie or a tired Marc-Andre Fleury. He averages 2.8 fantasy hockey points per game.
High Value D
Tyson Barrie – Colorado Avalanche ($5,000): Barrie is an underrated fantasy hockey option for your lineup tonight. He has 27 points in 36 games so far this season and has been one of the catalysts for Colorado’s offense. He is coming off a four point performance against the Kings and has nine points in his last 10 games. Look for him to be a huge factor in tonight’s battle against the Blues. He averages 2.6 fantasy hockey points per game.
Jake Gardiner – Toronto Maple Leafs ($4,300): Gardiner is playing against the Ducks, so he’s a risky start. However, he is riding a three game point streak. He averages 1.5 fantasy hockey points per game.
