High Salary SF

Gordon Hayward-Utah Jazz (7,400): Hayward played just 29 minutes in the Jazz loss last night and finished with 18 points and 30.5 fantasy points against Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs.  He had a much better game on Monday against tonight’s opponent Houston when he had 20 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and three assists on his way to 40.25 fantasy points. He should be lined up for a solid game again tonight against the Rockets since Houston is allowing the second-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SF so far this season. Hayward has at least 35 fantasy points in six of his last ten games, so he’s worth a look if you can afford him tonight. ∗∗

Rudy Gay-Sacramento Kings (7,000): Gay had 31 points in the Kings double-overtime game on Tuesday.  He added five boards for a very solid 41.25 fantasy points, but he needed to play 48 minutes to amass that production.  Tonight, he’s in a great matchup against the Lakers who he had 19 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals against the first time these two teams met. LA allows the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing SF, so he is in a matchup that makes sense for him again tonight. I am not 100% sold on him returning value at over 7K tonight, but he is in a good enough matchup to make him definitely worth considering. ∗∗

Jae Crowder-Boston Celtics (6,400): The Bulls aren’t as bad at defending SF as the Lakers or Rockets, but I think Crowder’s recent form makes him a solid consideration since he costs less than Gay and Hayward.  Crowder has scored at least 15 points in five straight games while averaging 18.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 2.2 steals per contest. He had at least 30 fantasy points four straight and seven of his last eight coming into last night’s game but only managed 25 fantasy points against the Pistons.  He should be able to be near 30 fantasy points again tonight since he continues to log heavy minutes for Boston, gets involved in so many ways, and will have to pick up some of Avery Bradley’s scoring load.∗∗∗

Kent Bazemore-Atlanta Hawks (6,100): Bazemore has scored at least 15 points in each of Atlanta’s last three games and has 24 fantasy points or more in each of their last four contests.  Tonight, he’ll get the start against the Sixers who allow the fifth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SF’s, so Bazemore should be able to continue producing tonight. Atlanta has dropped three of their last four, so getting a good win in Phily should be enough of a priority to them to get Bazemore his usually 30-minute workload.
