High Value PF

Taj Gibson-Chicago Bulls (5,900): Gibson had a very solid double-double against the Bucks on Tuesday with 11 points, 14 rebounds, and six blocks to boost him to 45 fantasy points. Since taking over some extra minutes for the injured Joakim Noah, Gibson has at least 20 fantasy points in each of his last eight games and has reached 25 fantasy points six times in his last ten.  Boston struggles with opposing big-men, so Gibson should get some more good work down low tonight. ∗∗

Nikola Mirotic-Chicago Bulls (5,200): As long as Mirotic keeps starting at the SF spot for the Bulls, he’ll be a nice play against Jae Crowder and the Celtics tonight.  Mirotic has at least 14 points in four of his last six games and at least 23 fantasy points in six of his last eight.  He has the potential to go off and approach a double-double, but even if he just continues to produce like he has been he’s still one of the best value plays at the position with the upside to go for 40+ fantasy points like he has twice in his last six games. Boston allows the ninth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SF, so Mirotic has that going for him as well. ∗∗

Larry Nance Jr.-Los Angeles Lakers (4,600): I actually think Booker has a higher upside, but Nance is much lower risk in his matchup tonight against the Kings as the Lakers visit Sacramento.  Nance has been near a double-double in each of his last six games with at least 20 fantasy points in five of those six contests. He had a very nice 15 points and 14 rebounds in 32 minutes against Phoenix on Sunday but only played 20 minutes in the Lakers blowout loss to Golden State on Tuesday.  He hopefully will get enough time to produce a double-double tonight against the Kings who allow the fifth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PF.∗∗∗

Amir Johnson-Boston Celtics (4,400): Playing any Boston front court player is a dicey proposition since coach Brad Stevens constantly tinkers with the rotation.  Lately, Johnson has been one of the best options up front, though, and he’ll probably be needed against Pau and the Bulls tongiht.  Johnson had 16 points and 11 boards last night against the Pistons in 31 minutes.  His 37.75 fantasy points gave him at least 20 fantasy points in five of his last six games since returning from a foot injury. He’s a solid cheap flier tonight against the Bulls. ∗∗∗∗
