High Salary PF

Draymond Green-Golden State Warriors (9,700): If you spend big at PF tonight, I’d go with Draymond as the Warriors visit Portland after a few days off.  Green came back to earth in Tuesday’s blowout win over the Lakers since he only played 28 minutes.  He still managed a solid 30.9 fantasy points in that playing time, but it did snap his run of three straight triple-doubles each of which resulted in 50+ fantasy points. Even with Steph Curry back, I feel like tonight’s game will be a good one in Portland which should result in over 30 minutes of action for Green, and I think he’ll be back to elite-level production against an iffy defensive front court.

LaMarcus Aldridge-San Antonio Spurs (7,100): Aldridge took Wednesday’s game against Utah off, but he was on quite a roll prior to that maintenance day.  He posted three straight games with 30 fantasy points or more including a pair of double-doubles, and he should be set up for more success tonight against the Knicks who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PF over their last five games.  Aldridge is gelling well with his new team, and he should be ready for another solid game tonight. ∗∗

Thaddeus Young-Brooklyn Nets (7,100): Young burned me and the rest of his owners with a sub-par effort on Wednesday against the Raptors scoring just 11 points and 24.4 fantasy points.  He had a pair of double-doubles against Boston before that let-down, and the Nets will need him to get rolling as they try to adjust to life without Jarrett Jack.  Young has a high ceiling tonight against the Magic who have been adjusting their front court rotation but have still allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing PF over their last five games.

Dirk Nowitzki-Dallas Mavericks (6,900): Dirk and Dallas’s starters should return to action after resting Wednesday after their double-overtime win against the Kings.  In that game, Dirk played a massive 43 minutes finishing with 23 points, five boards and three assists.   He has at least 32 fantasy points in three of his last four games, and he should be set up for success tonight against a Bucks team that has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing PF this season.  The one cautionary note is that Dirk and all the Mavs laid an egg against Milwaukee when these teams met a couple weeks ago, so hopefully they can all improve on that lackluster performance.
