High Salary D

Brent Burns-San Jose Sharks ($8,200): It’s getting to the point where Burns is an absolute must-play each night. He averages more fantasy points than any other player at any position, meaning you can treat him as a winger or center. Pay big for Burns and find value at one of the other positions. He’s got a five-game point streak and has 12 points in his last eight games. Burns is averaging 5.6 fantasy points a game and is an absolute beast.

Erik Karlsson-Ottawa Senators ($7,500): Karlsson is usually considered the best defenseman in fantasy hockey but he’s given up that role to Brent Burns this season. Still, Karlsson is a top defenseman and provides great production with an average of4.6 fantasy points a game. He’s picked up an assist in each of his last two games and has registered points in nine of his last 11 games. Karlsson gets a decent matchup with Boston tonight and makes a great choice for our fantasy lineup.

High Value D

Marc-Edouard Vlasic ($4,300): Vlasic is hot right now with points in three of his last four games and a total of six points over the last eight games. He’s half the price of teammate Brent Burns, and certainly won’t give you the same amount of production, but is a good source of fantasy production right now. He’ll go up against Toronto tonight, the worst team in the league at points allowed to defensemen.

Anton Stralman-Tampa Bay Lightning ($4,800): Stralman has just 18 points this season but has been producing at a good clip recently. He’s picked up points in four of the last five games and has eight points in the last 10 games. Stralman is averaging 2.4 fantasy points a game and has picked up at least four fantasy points in three of his last five games.
