FanDuel DFS daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup – January 10
High Salary C
Jonathan Toews – Chicago Blackhawks ($8,300): Toews has eight points over his last ten games and 28 points overall in 43 games this season. He goes against the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday. Toews probably looks forward to playing the Avalanche, as he has 29 points (including 15 goals) against them in 31 career games. He averages 3.1 fantasy points per game.
Henrik Zetterberg – Detroit Red Wings ($7,400): Like Toews, Zetterberg is facing a team that he absolutely loves to face: the Anaheim Ducks. He has been known as a “Duck hunter” his entire career with 38 points in 37 career games against them. He has six points in his last ten games and 30 points in 41 games this season. He averages 2.9 fantasy hockey points per game.
Nicklas Backstorm – Washington Capitals ($6,800): The Capitals All-Star center (feels so great to type that) has been quietly great over his last ten games with ten points. After his last minute goal against the Rangers on Saturday, he now has a five game point streak and has at least one point in six of his last seven games. He goes against the Ottawa Senators today. They are a team that he has had success against in the past with 23 points in 29 games. He averages 3.7 fantasy points per game.
High Value C
Aleksander Barkov – Florida Panthers ($5,900): Barkov has been a driving force behind the Panthers 11 game winning streak with 10 points over his last ten games. He now has 26 points in 31 games this season with 83 shots on goal. Expect him to do well against the struggling Edmonton Oilers. He averages 3.7 fantasy points per game.
Ryan O’Reilly – Buffalo Sabres ($5,100): O’Reilly has quietly been one of the most consistent fantasy producers in the NHL this season. He plays a ton of minutes and he plays during all situations. He has 35 points in 41 games this season. He has three goals over his last four games. He’s averaging 3.2 fantasy hockey points per game.
Leon Draisaitl – Edmonton Oilers ($4,700): Draisaitl has come back down to earth after an incredibly hot start to his season. He is still a huge bargain and is worth considering adding to your fantasy lineup if nothing else because nobody cheaper than him will likely give you much production. Even against the Panthers, Draisaitl could give you some great numbers. He averages 3.6 fantasy points per game.
