Marcin Gortat suffered a truly brutal cut to the ear after being elbowed in the head.

Marcin Gortat got elbowed in the head on Saturday night, and the resulting injury is tough to look at. The Washington Wizards‘ center took a huge blow to the head in their win over the Orlando Magic, and now, somehow, he is making light of what looks like quite a nasty cut. It was Nikola Vucevic who was the culprit of such a vicious elbow. The Orlando center is 7-foot and 260 pounds. Ouch!

The pictures are brutal to look at. The Polish Hammer has, however, managed to make light of the tough blow. On twitter, Gortat posted that the trainers did the “worst ear job that I have ever seen”, and I agree wholeheartedly with the trainers seemingly going for the “More bandages the better, approach.”

He then later posted a second photo with the bandages removed, revealing a viciously deep cut across the back end of his ear. It looks extremely painful, and quite frankly, rather him than me. In the end, Gortat was back to crying with laughter, in emoji form, and although he says he no longer looks as beautiful as before, he seems in good spirits.

Good luck with that, Marcin.
