DeForest Buckner. 17. player. 44.
The Atlanta Falcons had a tumultuous 2015 season, an undefeated start to the season, a string of losses, some winning again and they finished 8-8. The Falcons seem to have a good foundation to turn a corner in 2016 with Dan Quinn at head coach.

And the Falcons need defensive help. The Falcons could really use a safety but with Jalen Ramsey off the board do they want to use their first-round pick there? Instead, they’ll probably look to the deep talent pool along the defensive line.

The Falcons need help particularly at the defensive end position and there is a plethora of talent to choose. We have the Falcons using this pick on DeForest Buckner out of Oregon, though it’d be easy to see Quinn select Florida’s Jonathan Bullard given his ties to the school.

Buckner stands 6’7″ and is a more menacing presence than the smaller and wider 6’3″ Bullard. Buckner can give the Falcons speed to turn tackles and get after the quarterback. This also allows him to occasionally drop into coverage in various schemes. His real strength is his power, he can bull rush tackles.

Buckner gives the Falcons a more dynamic end with a versatile set of tools.
. DL. Oregon
